M K Ajatshatru Singh, Kuwarani Dr Ritu Singh address press on UK Visit, share insights from House of Commons event
Highlight celebration of Accession Day at House of Commons UK
JAMMU, November 11: M.K Ajatshatru Singh, a senior BJP leader, former minister, and the grandson of the last Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh, accompanied by Kuwarani Dr. Ritu Singh, addressed a press conference today in Jammu following their successful return from the UK. They shared insights from their participation in the House of Commons event in the UK Parliament and discussed the current sentiments of the people of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK).
Speaking to media persons, M.K Ajatshatru Singh spoke about their participation in a House of Commons event commemorating the 76th anniversary of Jammu & Kashmir’s accession to India. He highlighted the contributions of the Dogra dynasty to the princely state and the role of Maharaja Hari Singh in signing the Instrument of Accession. He also mentioned that he was surprised to find that Maharaja’s documents had been properly archived in the UK and that these documents clarify the whole mist on the fake issue created by Pakistan.
Ajatshatru Singh also mentioned that people from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) are planning to organize a conference in Geneva in March to highlight their plight. He said that PoJK delegates he met in London were mostly “living on foreign soil” and were hopeful of a positive outcome of the upcoming conference. They also admonished Pakistan for illegally occupying their region.
He mentioned that the PoJK delegates apprised him that the regime of Maharaja Hari Singh ji was much better before 1947. He also noted the enthusiasm of POJK residents regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah’s declarations to reclaim the region from Pakistan.
Interacting with media persons, Kuwarani Dr. Ritu Singh mentioned that she had highlighted in the House of Commons about the social and cultural initiatives in Jammu & Kashmir aimed at women empowerment, inclusion, skills development, and capacity building to boost the economy.
She also mentioned that she had gifted items to dignitaries that included Basohli Pashmina, Basohli art made by Paper Bag, and October brand promoting young entrepreneurs of Jammu.
She talked about the positive changes on the ground post abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. She also threw light on the Jammu tourism and enhancing business opportunities for women entrepreneurs. She also spoke about the best industrial policy of Jammu and Kashmir under the visionary leadership of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha. She has also invited the Indian diaspora to come and invest in Jammu and Kashmir.
She has also extended her support to help the women of POJK on humanitarian grounds.
The press conference concluded with M.K Ajatshatru Singh and Kuwarani Dr. Ritu Singh extending Diwali greetings to the people of J&K.
