Madhya Pradesh: Olympic medalist Hockey player Vivek Sagar Prasad offers prayers at Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar Temple
Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh) [India], August 23 (ANI): A two-time Olympic medalist Indian Hockey player Vivek Sagar along with his parents on Friday offered prayers at Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar Temple and took blessings of Baba Mahakal.
He worshipped Baba Mahakal with the rules and regulations of the temple. After the worship, Chairman of Mahakaleshwar Temple Committee and Ujjain Collector Neeraj Singh and Superintendent of Police (SP) Pradeep Sharma honoured the Olympian Vivek Sagar Prasad.
Speaking to ANI, Vivek Sagar said, “Even before participating in the Paris Olympics, I had come here to worship Baba Mahakal. Now, I have returned after winning, I came here again to take his blessings. I feel very happy to come here, after worshipping Baba Mahakal, I get energy. A belief appears that the lord is always with me. Whatever I do by the grace of Baba Mahakal its result will be good.”
Conveying a message to youths, the Olympian said that one should keep working hard as God pays off the hard work well. Therefore, keep efforts on and move forward towards the goal.
“Indian Hockey Player Vivek Sagar came to offer prayers at Mahakaleshwar Temple on Friday. He has made Madhya Pradesh and the entire Country proud. We honoured him and extended greetings to him on winning the medal for the country on the occasion,” Collector Singh said.
Olympian Vivek Sagar Prasad is a resident of Itarsi in Narmadapuram district. He plays as a midfielder for the Indian national team. Earlier, he won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics and recently at the Paris Olympics.
