BJP pays tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh ji

JAMMU, April 26: Jammu & Kashmir, Bharatiya Janata Party, leaders remembered and paid tributes to Late Maharaja Hari Singh ji on his death anniversary across the Union Territory of J&K.

J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina, accompanied by other senior party leaders paid tributes to Maharaja at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

Ravinder Raina said that Maharaja Hari Singh ji was a great reformer, visionary, a revolutionary and a patriotic ruler who forcefully established the idea of free India in First Indian Round Table Conference held at London. He said that the whole of Jammu & Kashmir bows to Maharaja for his reformative roles in the state. He said that the Maharaja was a true nationalist and patriot who played an important role in the independence struggle. Maharaja joined the whole of Jammu & Kashmir including the areas that are now under illegal occupation. He was also instrumental in framing Praja Parishad and all the prominent struggles of the common masses in J&K, he added.

Former MP Shamsher Singh Manhas also paid tributes to Maharaja and said that Maharaja Hari Singh ji was a great visionary, philanthropist and a dynamic personality. He said that Maharaja was the last Dogra ruler of the State who was much popular among common masses.

Sat Sharma, while paying tributes said that Maharaja was a secular leader of masses in the true sense, who had established himself as a representative of all the regions and religions.

Former MLA Ashwani Sharma, said that Maharaja opened all public places including temples for everybody including the depressed classes, made primary education as compulsory, banned child marriage.
