Maharashtra cabinet approves corporations for economically weaker sections of Brahmins and Rajputs

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], September 23 (ANI): The Maharashtra Cabinet has decided to constitute two dedicated corporations for economically weaker sections of the Brahmin and Rajput communities.

In a move to address the challenges faced by these groups and for their upliftment, the cabinet has also allocated Rs 50 crore to each of them.

For Brahmin castes, ‘Parashuram Economic Development Corporation’ and for the Rajput community, ‘Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap Economic Development Corporation’ is to be formed by the state cabinet.

The Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led cabinet also took some other key decisions in the cabinet meeting, like renaming Lohgaon Airport as ‘Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj International Airport, Pune’, inclusion of three Kunbi sub-castes in the Other Backward Classes list, and establishment of the District and Additional Sessions Court at Junnar.

Double increase in remuneration of sarpanch and deputy sarpanch in the state, construction of new complex of Bombay High Court at Bandra, naming of 14 ITI institutes in the state, Rs seven crores to Law Universities at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nagpur, improvements in decision to direct recruitment of top quality players and Senior Pay Scale to Water Resources Employees were among other decisions taken by the cabinet.
