Maharashtra Legislative Council adjourned due to heated arguments among MLCs over Rahul Gandhi’s remarks
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 1 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Maharashtra Legislative Council member Prasad Lad alleged that Ambadas Danve, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) from the Uddhav Thackeray faction of the Shiv Sena used abusive language against Danve and demanded that the Deputy Chairman should take strict action against him.
Prasad Lad insisted on passing a resolution in the Maharashtra Legislative Council against Rahul Gandhi for making a statement on Hindus in the Parliament. Ambadas Danve, LoP argued against it and said that it is not their subject and the same is being discussed in the Parliament. “We should focus on our discussions,” Danve reasoned.
Prasad Lad along with the MLCs from the ruling Mahayuti coalition objected and started questioning Ambadas Danve. “Aren’t you a Hindu?” the Mahayuti MLCs asked Danve, continuously pointing fingers at him and demanding an answer.
There was a massive uproar in the Legislative Council and a heated argument followed between Ambadas Danve and Prasad Lad.
Prasad Lad accused Ambadas Danve of using abusive language against him and demanded strict action to be taken against him by the Deputy Chairman.
The Legislative Council was then adjourned till Tuesday following the ruckus.
Rahul Gandhi said in the lower house today that the BJP is not the entire Hindu society.
“Narendra Modi is not entire Hindu society. BJP is not the entire Hindu society, RSS is not the entire society, this is not BJP’s contract,” he said.
“Abhayamudra is the symbol of Congress…The Abhayamudra is the gesture of fearlessness, is the gesture of reassurance and safety, which dispels fear and accords divine protection and bliss in Hinduism, Islam, Sikhism, Buddhism and other Indian religions….All our great men have spoken about non-violence and finishing fear…But, those who call themselves Hindu only talk about violence, hatred, untruth…Aap Hindu ho hi nahi,” the Congress leader added.
