Main peddler, kingpin of Chitta trade arrested by Kishtwar Police

KISHTWAR, FEBRUARY 09: Kishtwar Police, under the supervision of SSP, Khalil Poswal,  have launched a major crackdown to bust the nexus of drug peddlers in the district and its surrounding areas.

In this context, SSP Kishtwar said that recently a case FIR No. 20/2023 U/sec. 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at PS Kishtwar and one Mohammad Iqbal Khanday S/o Bashir Ahmed Khanday R/o Thakrie, AP Shaktinagar Kishtwar was arrested from whom 52 Gms Heroine Like substance was recovered which he had kept in his shop. During the investigation backward and forward linkage were ascertained and a major breakthrough has been achieved by arresting main supplier of heroin (chitta) namely Shahnawaz Ahmed R/o Tund Kishtwar responsible for trapping innocent youth of the area and indulging in drug trafficking with huge financial transactions.

While divulging the details, the SSP said a team led by Insp Abid Bukhari SHO PS Kishtwar, raided the suspected locations and arrested the main supplier of drugs namely Shahnawaz Ahmed S/o Abdul Majid R/o Hidyal Kishtwar and investigation was started.

He said that Police are aggressively working to bust the involvement of other narcotic syndicates to save the innocent youth of Kishtwar and its surrounding areas from the menace of drug addiction.
