Man apprehended with suspected narcotics by BSF in Punjab’s Ferozepur
Ferozepur (Punjab) [India], May 28 (ANI): Border Security Force (BSF) troops apprehended a person along with suspected narcotics concealed in the tool box of his motorcycle in Ferozepur district on Monday evening, said the BSF.
According to the statement from BSF, troops deployed on duty observed a suspected motorcycle rider near the border area of district Ferozepur. The troops immediately stopped him and questioned him, followed by his frisking and search of the motorcycle.
During the search, troops recovered two small packets weighing 200 grams of suspected narcotics concealed in the tool box of his motorcycle. Questioning of the individual revealed him to be a resident of village- Chak Bhange Wala of Ferozepur district.
Further, the apprehended person, along with his bike and the suspected narcotics, were handed over to the police for further investigation.
Earlier, BSF in a joint operation with Punjab police recovered a packet of suspected heroin weighing 530 grams in border area of district Tarn Taran on Sunday, said Public Relations Officer BSF. The search was conducted based on information provided by BSF intelligence wing about the presence of heroin.
“The search culminated at about 2:00 pm with the recovery of one packet of suspected heroin (Gross weight- 530 Grams). The narcotics were wrapped with yellow adhesive tape and a metal ring was found attached to the packet. This recovery took place in a ditch on the outskirts of village- Dal in Tarn Taran district,” said the statement.
