Man detained under PSA in Rajouri’s Nowshera
RAJOURI, 10 February 2024: For his repeated involvement in unlawful activities posing threat for peace and order, police in the Nowshera sub-division of Rajouri district have detained a man under the Public Safety Act (PSA).
A team of police officials of Police Post Lam and Police Station Nowshera detained the accused who has been lodged in Rajouri District Jail.
A detention order was issued by the competent authority, i.e. District Magistrate Rajouri, based on a detailed report submitted by District Police Office Rajouri.
Accused Mohammad Azam son of Wazir Hussain is a resident of Wand Mohra, Pukharni in Qila Darhal Tehsil of Nowshera sub division in Rajouri district.
The accused is booked in several criminal cases that include FIR 189/2013 of Police Station Nowshera, FIR 123/2014 of Police Station Nowshera, 195/2014 of Police Station Nowshera, 26/2016 of Police Station Nowshera, 53/2021 of Police Station Nowshera.
Despite being booked in a number of FIRs, the accused was still not mending his ways and was involved in unlawful acts and was posing a threat to peace and order.
Over this, a detained dossier / report was prepared by District Police Office Rajouri and further submitted before the competent authority, i.e. DM Rajouri, who has issued an order for detention under PSA.
