Management Conclave organised at School of Business, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University

REASI, March 22: The Management Conclave 2024 entitled, “Sambandh” themed ‘Growth with Sustainability” organised by the School of Business, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. The Chief Guest of the inaugural function Prof. Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU highlighted the importance of linking the academic programs with corporate in today’s world. He emphasised on imbibing entrepreneurial traits within students for economic growth and corporate development. Prof. Ashutosh Vashistha, Dean, Faculty of Management highlighted the relevance of Indian ethos in working environment and corporates. Prof. Supran Kumar Sharma, Coordinator of the program described the different management principles to be followed to enhance teamwork. Prof. Jyoti Sharma, Head, School of Business laid down emphasis on how such programs help in transition of students from classroom learning to experiential learning.

The six plenary sessions were conducted in which experts delivered talks on different aspects of the requisite theme. The different experts include Mr. Ashutosh Bajaj, State Head at Reliance Jio, who talked about sustainable growth in the field of corporate sector and further discussed the involvement of technology and AI in the current business scenario that contributes to societal upliftment. The next expert, Mr. Vidya Bhushan, Co-founder and COO, Dalchini Technologies, Delhi, pointed towards critical thinking that may lead to design innovations and reiterated that questioning anything and everything will help to survive in the market for long. Mrs. Kanika Nag, Digital Marketer, IBM, Bangalore,highlighted the requirement to maintain individual life philosophy with a suggestion to be kind towards the environment and the people around. Mr. Vinod Prakash Baxla, GM, HR, PowerGrid Jammu, highlighted the contribution of the power sector in the economic development with an emphasis on India becoming a carbon neutral power generator by 2050. Mr. Naren Karunakaran, Consultant, SBBD, IIM Jammu enlightened students on circular economy, mitigation and adaptation. The sixth expert, Mr. Ankush Gupta, HR, Business Partner, Ernst and Young, pointed towards the role of analytics in problem solving and shared his experience with respect to growth, sustainability and contribution of management graduates in economic development. Dr Syeda Shazia Bukhari, Co-organising Secretary, SMVDU, delivered the vote of thanks.

A panel discussion was also held on “Industry 4.0: Challenges and Preparedness in India”. The experts gave their statements and discussed the challenges being faced in the implementation of Industry 4.0 in India.  A number of challenges and opportunities were discussed for its successful implementation. Apart from the six experts, students pursuing MBA program were also the panellists in the panel discussion. Dr Deepak Jain, Organising Secretary presented concluding remarks of the panel discussion.
