Mangalore city police conducts raid at city jail
Mangaluru (Karnataka) [India], July 25 (ANI): The Mangalore City Police on Wednesday morning, under the guidance of the Commissioner of Police, Mangalore City, conducted a surprise raid on the Mangalore City Jail Barracks.
As per information given by Mangaluru Police Commissioner, Anupam Agarwal, the operation, which began at 4 AM, involved 2 DCPs, 3 ACPs, 15 PIs, and around 150 personnel.
Multiple teams were formed to cover all the blocks of the jail simultaneously, with the secrecy of the raid maintained until the last moment to ensure its effectiveness.
During the search, 25 mobile phones, 1 Bluetooth device, 5 earphones, 1 pen drive, 5 chargers, 1 pair of scissors, 3 cables, and multiple packets of Ganja and other drugs were seized by the Police.
This operation underscores the department’s ongoing commitment to maintaining security and preventing illegal activities within the jail.
Further investigation is underway to determine how these items were brought into the jail.
