MD, Dairy Development visits Bandipora, inaugurates Milking Vans & Satellite Heifer projects

BANDIPORA, JULY 25: Mission Director (MD) Diary Development, Narendra Singh Bali today visited Bandipora district to oversee key initiatives aimed at advancing the dairy sector.


The MD inaugurated the newly sponsored ‘Milk Vans’ under the Integrated Dairy Development Scheme (IDDS) to enhance milk transportation and preservation.


During interactions with Dairy Entrepreneurs, he emphasized maximizing benefits from Holistic Agricultural Development Programme (HADP) and IDDS schemes. The entrepreneurs shared their success stories of improved livelihoods and dairy production.


The MD also inaugurated the first-ever Satellite Heifers Farm established under HADP, at Trigam Sumbal and also inspected the Hydroponic unit, aimed at improving livestock quality and sustainable fodder production. The visit included an inspection of Kasperia Organic, a local milk processing plant maintaining high-quality standards.


While interacting with Veterinary Assistant Surgeons, he focused on strengthening animal health services, crucial for dairy animal well-being. He also interacted with A-Help, and distributed AI kits to Maitris who support the dairy development initiatives. He also distributed the certificates to various dairy entrepreneurs of the District.


The visit concluded with an inspection of the Central Veterinary Laboratory, supporting disease diagnosis and control strategies. He directed for sustainable growth in Bandipora’s dairy industry, guiding future strategies for economic prosperity and support for dairy farmers.
