Meeting held to update District Export Action Plan for Jammu district
JAMMU, April 06: A meeting for the updation of the District Export Action Plan for Jammu district was held under the chairpersonship of District Development Commissioner, Avny Lavasa.
General Manager, District Industries Centre Jammu, Varinder Kumar Manyal invited attention to the need for revamping the District Export Action Plan for Jammu to implement the vision of converting each district into an export hub. A consultant from Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation presented a presentation on interventions required to increase the export of products identified under One District One Product and District as Export Hub from Jammu district.
DDC Jammu directed committee members to prepare a realistic plan to assess and enhance the export potential of identified products. She asked to identify training and development needs of district industries and coordinate training with other departments. She also asked to identify bottlenecks for exporting these products.
The DDC stressed upon officers to act as one-point facilitators for export promotion at district level and emphasised on capacity building to create new exporters.
Lead District Manager (LDM) Jammu Romesh Chander; Handicrafts Training Officer (HTO) Simmi Dogra; Assistant Handloom Training Officer (AHTO), Anil Kumar Munshi; Technical Officer Agriculture, Sanjeev Khajuria; District Officer Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB), Vakil Dass; Manager Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation Jammu, Aditya Chuni along with other officers from concerned departments were present in the meeting.
