Meeting of Standing Committee for Health & Education held at Budgam
BUDGAM, January 28: A meeting of the Standing Committee for Health and Education was held in the Conference Hall here.
DDC Member- DDC Constituency Khansahib, Bashir Ahmad Bhat who is Chairperson of the Committee presided over the meeting besides Saima Jan DDC Member B.K.Pora and DDC Member Pakherpora/Chararisharief Molvi Bashir Ahmad also attended the meeting.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Budgam, Akramullak Tak; Chief Education Office, Dy. Chief Medical Officer Budgam. All Block Medical Officers and Zonal Education Officers of the district also attended the meeting.
Discussions related to the Education and Health sectors were held. Chief Education Officer Budgam informed that there are 13 Educational Zones having 928 functional schools and 7 Govt. Degree Colleges, 2 ITIs besides One JNV and One Kendreya Vidyaliya. Besides there are 292 private Schools and total student population of the district is 150661.
While discussing the Health sector, Dy.Chief Medical Officer gave a profile of Health Sector of District Budgam.
During the discussion, DDC Member Khansahib was of the opinion that some Ambulances need Drivers which has been taken into account and BMO Khansahib was asked to forward a proposal for internal arrangement of Drivers so that these Ambulances are put to use in a realistic manner.
ADDC elaborated the role of Standing Committees and it was informed that the low requirement demands shall be put before the standing Committees so that Members could arrange funds for these demands within their sanctioned grants.
