Meeting on monitoring cases of acid attack survivors & sale/ purchase of dangerous chemicals held at Anantnag
ANANTNAG, APRIL 08: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Anatnag today conveyed a meeting of Officers for monitoring the cases of Acid attack survivors and sale/ purchase of acids and other chemicals in the district.
The ADC directed the officers present in the meeting to check the access to these substances and monitor the cases of acid attacks.
He said the numbers of acid attack cases are although less is the district but they have to be cautious and have to regularly check the quantity of these substances with the industrial units and particularly in the school labs.
Students being the vulnerable group so the HODs of schools must ensure that no misuse of such things should occur and they must regularly check the quantum available in the laboratory.
He said that circular be issued to all states UTs with regard to sale and purchase of such chemicals and ensure no sale of it to below 18 years childrens.
The acid attack cases have spoiled the life of victims and sale and purchase of such chemicals must be registered and under the supervision of the experts.
The meeting was attended by the programme officer ICDS, CEO MC Anantnag, Tehsildars, DySP headquarters Anatnag, DSWO and EOs etc.
