Mega Book Exhibition held at GDC Pampore
DC Pulwama presides over as chief guest
PULWAMA, September 12: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr.Basharat Qayoom today presided over a Mega Book Exhibition held at GDC Pampore as chief guest.
During the exhibition, the DC took an extensive tour of various stalls examining the various books and expressed his pleasure on such a vast array and collection of books.
Addressing the students and other participants, Dr Basharat emphasised that reading books not only nurtures the brain of an individual but widens his perspectives. This type of exhibition shall serve as a platform for students to know not only what is relevant to their course study but also to know what is happening in and around the world, he added.
Quoting Mark Twain, “A person who does not read good books has no advantage over a person who cannot read”, the DC stressed on the need of reading good books and how reading books help in transforming an individual. And as we are in Digital era wherein we have hundreds and thousands of books at our fingertips we should take advantage of the same and indulge in reading more books, he added.
The DC appreciated the management of Govt Degree College Pampore for organising such a wonderful exhibition as such interventions will result in the overall enhancement of the society.
