Mega cleanliness drive organized by Amar Singh college
SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 01, Amar Singh College Cluster University, Srinagar organized a massive cleanliness drive themed “Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” in tune with the vision of the Honourable Prime Minister and conducted a series of events.
Concurrent with the spirit of the nation this year to build ‘Garbage Free India’, the first event was a Shramadaan of one hour, conducted under the able leadership of Prof. (Dr) Sheikh Aijaz Bashir, principal Amar Singh College and Nodal principal Kashmir Division Colleges.
The objective of the event was to make a valuable contribution to the nation in terms of cleanliness of surroundings.
Institution organised a Plogathon, in the morning from Mehjoor Nagar footbridge to Amar Singh College, which was flagged off by Prof. (Dr) Yasmeen Ashai, Director Colleges UT of J&K.
The members from the Teaching faculty, Non-Teaching staff, students and parents participated in the event. The Worthy Director encouraged the participants by dedicating one hour for shramadaan alongside her colleagues.
The participants jogged along the flood channel and picked up the litter from the embankment of the water body and disposed of waste in a dumping van at Jawahar Nagar.
The locals lauded the efforts of the principal for conducting such a constructive and productive activity.
Another event was organized for the cleaning of the college hostel. The faculty members and hostel boarders together engaged in the activity and dedicated one hour for shramadaan.
Around three hundred participants were engaged in these events.
