Mehbooba Mufti hails SC verdict staying Rahul Gandhi’s conviction

SRINAGAR 4 Aug: Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti, extended a warm welcome to the recent Supreme Court verdict that temporarily stayed the conviction of Rahul Gandhi in a case that she described as having “no legs to stand upon”. Mufti expressed her delight at the prospect of Gandhi’s return to Parliament, where he would continue championing the idea of India.

SC has restored the MP status of Congress stalwart Rahul Gandhi and stayed his conviction as to defamation case.

I welcome the SC verdict staying @RahulGandhi’s conviction in a case that had no legs to stand upon. Glad that he will be back in Parliament fighting for the idea of India.
