‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ campaign commences with patriotic fervor at Ganderbal
DC participates in various activities organised under the campaign
GANDERAL, AUGUST 09: ‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ campaign, was today launched in district Ganderbal amid patriotic fervor with a series of activities being organised in Panchayats of the district.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir visited several Panchayats and participated in various programs held under the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign.
During his visit to Panchayat Ghar Kijpora Kangan the DC participated in various activities such as Panch Pran pledge, hoisting of national flag, national anthem, plantation drive, collection of maati in earthen pots from the Panchayats besides cultural program, patriotic songs which was presented by school children.
He also inaugurated Silaphalakam (memorial plaque) within the premises of Panchayat Kijpora.
PRI members, Dy.DEO, SDM Kangan, district officers and officials besides students were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC maintained that ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign has been launched in the country to honour our Martyred braveheart men and women and urged all to participate actively in the campaign.
He further added that the campaign’s central focus revolves around ‘Soil’ symbolizing the essence and unity of the nation. It is aimed to collect Soil from every Panchayat across the district and later the same will travel to Delhi, to pay homage to the valiant heroes, he added.
It is worth mentioning here that the District Administration has planned a series of events and themes under the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign including its components viz. Silaphalakam, Vasudha Vandhan, Veeron Ka Vandan, hoisting of National Flag, singing of Rashtra Gaan and Panch Pran Pledge besides the local level programs shall also be held to pay homage to the ‘Veers’ who had sacrificed their lives for our future preferentially freedom fighters and defense personnel.
Meanwhile, the fervor of the campaign was also seen in other Panchayats of the district as PRIs, locals and students could be seen actively engaged in organizing a diverse array of events including Tiranga Rallies, Panch Pran Pledges, Singing of patriotic songs and other impactful programs that aim to instill a sense of responsibility towards the nation’s development.
