“Meri Mati Mera Desh” Campaign takes off in District Kishtwar
Mega Patriotic Event held at Amritsarovar Chatroo; DC administers Panch Paran, hoist tricolor, felicitates Martyr’s Family
KISHTWAR, AUGUST 09: The launch of the “Meri Mati Mera Desh” Campaign, a prelude to Independence Day 2023, witnessed a remarkable take off in Kishtwar District. The event, organized by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Inderwal in partnership with the District Administration Kishtwar, unfolded at Amritsarovar TRC Chatroo, honoring local heroes and martyrs.
The auspicious occasion was graced by the presence of Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner, Dr Devansh Yadav; ADDC, Sham Lal; ACP Zakir Hussain Wani; ACD Manoj Kumar; SDM Chatroo Showkat Hayat Matoo; BDO Inderwal Tasleem Wani; CMO, Dr M Y Mir; BMO Chatroo, SHO Chatroo among others.
The program commenced with the lighting of the traditional lamp, symbolizing the enlightenment of our collective spirit. BDO Chatroo extended a warm welcome to all attendees, shedding light on the various activities that would transpire under the “Meri Mati Mera Desh” initiative.
The ACP provided insight into the significance of the campaign, highlighting its role in connecting the community with the sacrifices of our freedom fighters.
Local PRIs and prominent figures also addressed the gathering, urging participation in the week-long campaign that celebrates those who laid down their lives for our security and peace.
Marking a poignant moment, the Deputy Commissioner unveiled the memorial plaque (Silapalakham) alongside family members of local martyrs and PRIs. The solemn administration of the Panch Paran pledge further emphasized the commitment to our nation’s values.
Adding fervor to the event, students from Shanti Institute of Education presented a patriotic dance skit. Deputy Commissioner felicitated family members of local martyrs in recognition of their enduring sacrifices.
The event also included a collection of soil in Amrit Kalash for the Amrit Kalash Yatra and a plantation drive in collaboration with Forest Division Marwah and 52 BN CRPF, emphasizing environmental conservation as a tribute to our land (Vasudha Vandan).
Flag hoisting and the National anthem resounded through the program, fostering a sense of unity and pride.
Highlighting social responsibility, a Sanitatyworker/Swachgrahi who doubles as a social media influencer was honored for his exceptional efforts in promoting the Swachh Bharat Campaign through online platforms.
