Meri Mati, Mera Desh devoted to the martyrs, patriots: Dr. Nirmal Singh

JAMMU SEP 5 Former Deputy Chief Minister & BJP senior leader, Dr. Nirmal Singh, said that the ‘Meri Mati, Mera Desh’ campaign represents the concluding phase of the countrywide programmes under “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava”.

Dr. Singh, who is also party incharge for the programme, stated this while addressing media persons at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, where he was accompanied by co-incharge for the programme & BJP OBC Morcha National Secretary Rashpaul Verma and J&K BJP Media Secretary Dr. Pardeep Mahotra.

He said that the whole programme represents the farsighted vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the honour and the integrity of nation.

He said that although the programme is under the government of India, but BJP as a responsible, dedicated and nationalist party is contributing fully to make the campaign successful, which is directed towards the national integrity. He also appealed other political and social organizations to contribute in the noble cause.

Dr. Singh said that after the 1st phase of the whole program, this phase, which started on 1st September, will go till 15 September, in which the BJP activists will visit every home in the region.

Dr. Singh said that under the ‘Meri Mati, Mera Desh’ campaign, the Mitti /sand would be collected from every household which is initially started by collecting mitti from the houses of martyrs. Then, he said that on 16th September, the collected mitti in urns/kalsh will be send to the national capital block wise, where 75 saplings will be planted in the ‘Amrit Vatika’ which will be established as a memorial.

He said that until the evening of 4 September, the programme has been started in 403 Panchayats in which the mitti has been collected from more than 190 martyr families. He said that public programmes will also be conducted in every Panchayat. He also told that 5 ‘Pran’ (oath) would be taken after collecting ‘mitti’ in the urns. He told that retired Army personnel would also be honoured under the campaign.

Dr. Singh also shared the names of the martyr families in various districts across Jammu & Kashmir where the senior BJP leaders have visited till date to collect the ‘Mitti’.

He also shared that ‘Shila’ would be erected in the Panchayats in which the martyrs’ names would be inscribed to create a ‘Martyr Memorial’ at appropriate places.
