KISHTWAR, February 26: A residential house was gutted today in a fire incident here in Naunatu area leading to the death of a minor boy.
As per the police, the house of Mohammad Hanief son of Mohammad Hussain of Naunatu area of Block Nagseni was engulfed in a massive fire leading to death of an 8 year old boy, Mohammad Irfan and 05 cattle.
After receiving the information, DC Kishtwar Dr. Devansh Yadav along with SSP Khalil Poswal , Chief Medical Officer Dr M Y Mir , Dy SP Head Quarter, Ashish Gupta, SHO Kishtwar Abid Bikhari rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation.
ASI PS Padyarna, Red Cross Team, Fire and Emergency Service took control of the situation. Local youth and PRIs played a pivotal role in the process.
Senior officers interacted with the family members and expressed grief over the loss and assured of all possible help to the fire affected family members from the district administration.
The DC handed over a cheque of Rs 20,000 as immediate Relief to the fire Victims on the spot.
After post-mortem and completing legal formalities, the body was handed over to family members.
DC Kishtwar said that though the loss is irreparable but administration stands with family in this tough time.
The cause of the fire is not known yet and further investigation has been initiated.
Tehsildar Nagseni was directed to submit the loss assessment report so that ex gratia relief was provided to the family as per SDRF norms.
