Mission Shakti SWD organises informative awareness sessions in government educational institutions

JAMMU, OCTOBER 25: Mission Shakti SANKALP Hub for Empowerment of women Jammu (Social Welfare Department), dedicated to women’s empowerment, conducted awareness sessions in different Government Educational institutions here today.

The awareness programs were held in GGHSS Satwari, GBHS Satwari, GGHS Gandhinagar, GBHSS Gandhinagar and GCW Gandhinagar.

The program aimed to empower and make students aware by providing crucial information about various government schemes designed to improve their lives and well-being.

Officials of Mission Shakti SANKALP HEW delivered a detailed lecture on a wide range of government schemes designed to support women, such as the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), State Marriage Assistance Scheme (SMAS),
Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY), Widow and Old Age Pension schemes, various skill oriented courses of ITI and polytechnic, Business Startup schemes like PMEGP, TEJASWINI, MUMKIN, SC ST Corporation, WDC and various schemes that are for safety and security of women like one stop centre, special cell.

They also stressed the significance of the girl child in Indian society, emphasizing the role of women in nation-building and the importance of gender equality.

The main focus of the sessions were to emphasise about the Scholarship of Social Welfare Department of Pre and Post Matric Scholarship of SC students and they were educated about the portal of filling the form and documentation required and even the benefits of the scholarship were told to them .Even the officials also emphasized the vital role of women in nation-building and the importance of gender equality, highlighting the significance of the girl child in society.

The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and the faculty members of various institutions who expressed keen interest in the schemes and actively sought guidance on how to benefit from them. The initiative underscores Mission Shakti’s commitment to reaching out to rural communities and ensuring women are well-informed about the support available to them.
