MLA flags off Mushroom Growers, Beekeepers on exposure tour to SKUAST Jammu

UDHAMPUR, DECEMBER 4: In a significant initiative to promote sustainable and innovative agricultural practices, a tour comprising 60 mushroom growers and beekeepers, sponsored under the Promotion of Round-the-Year Mushroom Cultivation project of HADP, was flagged off to Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), Jammu here today by Member Legislative Assembly Udhampur West, Pawan Kumar Gupta.


During the tour the farmers and entrepreneurs would get the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills in modern mushroom cultivation and beekeeping practices.


Speaking on the occasion, the MLA Udhampur West highlighted the importance of empowering farmers with the latest farm techniques to boost productivity and profitability. He appreciated the Agriculture Department for organizing such initiatives that contribute to the overall development of the farming community.


Chief Agriculture Officer Sanjay Anand emphasized the department’s commitment to support farmers through capacity-building programs and providing exposure to advanced agricultural practices. He encouraged the participants to actively engage in the learning process and apply the knowledge in their respective fields for better outcomes.


The tour is part of the Holistic Agriculture Development Program, focusing on round-the-year mushroom cultivation and beekeeping as potential avenues for sustainable income generation.
