Mobile Veterinary Units established across Kashmir to increase accessibility of veterinary services at farmer’s doorsteps

SRINAGAR, December 13: Mobile Veterinary Units have been established in Kashmir division under Establishment and Strengthening of Veterinary Hospitals and Dispensaries scheme (ESVHD), a component of Livestock Health and Disease Control Program (LHDCP) throughout the valley.

These were launched with the aim to increase accessibility of veterinary services at farmer’s doorsteps. The farmers have to dial AHD Helpdesk 1962 to avail the said service

In addition Mobile Veterinary Unit of Animal Welfare Directorate of Animal Husbandry Kashmir provides ambulatory services to the dedicated Police Service Canines, the committed warriors of the nation belonging to Crime Branch Kashmir.

The said services are the first of its kind providing door step emergency services to the farming community.

Speaking on the scheme, Dr. Qazi Mudasir an expert from Central Veterinary Hospital said the scheme will definitely help the poor farming community in getting emergency door step treatment to their livestock and other animals.
