“Modi government to be formed with full majority once again”: Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], June 4 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday exuded confidence over victory in the Lok Sabha election 2024, saying that he is satisfied that the Modi government will secure a full majority once again.
Speaking to ANI, CM Yadav said, “I am satisfied that the Modi government is going to form government again with a full majority…The BJP is leading on 29 out of 29 seats in Madhya Pradesh. I want to congratulate PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and party president JP Nadda.”
Meanwhile, the chief minister also expressed confidence in winning the Chhindwara Lok Sabha seat, which was the only parliamentary seat that the Congress party managed to win in the previous LS poll 2019.
“I have been saying from the beginning that no one can defeat us in Chhindwara. It was said that Chhindwara was the stronghold of Kamal Nath but I said that it was not a stronghold but a fuss. The flaws have been exposed in front of everyone. The public’s love is towards the BJP and we are winning Chhindwara with a full majority,” CM Yadav added.
Notably, Chhindwara is a hot seat in the state and Congress held the seat for over 70 years, barring a short period of time between 1997 and 1998. Besides, Kamal Nath and his family members have been ruling the seat for the last 44 years since 1980. But in 1997, veteran BJP leader and former CM Sunderlal Patwa defeated Nath in the by-election, however, Kamal Nath again won the Chhindwara seat in 1998.
Chhindwara is considered a stronghold of Kamal Nath and the former CM’s son Nakul Nath is contesting from the seat. It was the only seat that Congress managed to win in the previous 2019 general elections in the state.
Nakul Nath is contesting again from the Chhindwara seat against BJP candidate Vivek Bunty Sahu, who had lost to Kamal Nath in the last two assembly polls.
According to the latest trend shown by the Election Commission of India, the BJP nominee from Chhindwara seat, Vivek Bunty Sahu is leading with 49,282 votes and Congress’ Nakul Nath is trailing behind.
