BJP removed decades-long discrimination with WPR: Vibodh
There is a wave of celebration among West Pakistan Refugees as the J&K administration under Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha granted them proprietary rights on state land.
“This decision will greatly empower thousands of refugee families across Jammu and Kashmir. It meets the long-standing demand of these families, who have been seeking ownership rights for decades,” said BJP J&K General Secretary and former MLC Vibodh Gupta, as he
accompanied by Former Dy. Mayor Baldev Singh Billawaria and Senior BJP leader Pt. Ashok Khajuria distributed sweets and celebrated the long-awaited fulfillment of their demand at West Pakistan Refugee Basti in Bhor Camp.
Vibodh highlighted the significant change in the status of West Pakistan Refugees, who once faced severe deprivation of basic human and fundamental rights and were excluded from participating in assembly or local body elections. However, with the abrogation of Article 370 and the granting of proprietary rights, these refugees are now recognized as true residents of Jammu and Kashmir, enjoying genuine rights and a dignified life.
Vibodh maintained that the vision of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas’ has removed developmental imbalances and put J-K on the path of accelerated and inclusive development establishing an era of social justice after a couple of decade.
Vibodh sharply criticized the successive Congress, National Conference, and PDP governments for their harsh and unjust treatment of West Pakistan refugees. He condemned these parties for blatantly ignoring their fundamental demands and denying them basic human rights, which has led to their continued suffering and misery.
