Terms BJP’s Poll Manifesto for J&K as women oriented

JAMMU: Priya Sethi, National Executive Member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and former Minister, today reaffirmed the BJP’s unwavering commitment to transitioning from ‘women-centric development’ to ‘women-led development,’ a key focus of the Narendra Modi government.

In a statement issued here today, the senior BJP leader emphasized that the BJP has not only championed women’s empowerment but has also taken tangible steps to ensure that women are at the forefront of India’s development narrative. “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, we have seen a paradigm shift in our approach towards women’s welfare. From focusing on women-centric development to fostering women-led development, our policies reflect a deep-seated commitment to this cause,” Sethi stated.

Highlighting the achievements of the Modi government, Priya Sethi pointed to the BJP’s manifesto for the J&K Assembly polls as a testament to this commitment. The manifesto prominently featured the ‘Maa Samman Yojana,’ which promises Rs 18,000 for elderly women, the creation of 5 lakh jobs for the youth of J&K and many others. These initiatives are part of a broader strategy to uplift and empower women across various strata of society.

She mentioned that the Modi government since 2014 has introduced several landmark schemes aimed at improving the lives of women and ensuring their active participation in nation-building. Among these, the Nari Shakti Adhiniyam stands out as a significant achievement, celebrating the ‘Amrit Peedi’s Moment’ and underscoring the government’s dedication to women’s empowerment. Other notable schemes include Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Celebrating Motherhood, Dignity of Livelihood, PM Awas Yojana, PM Ujjwala Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, Jal Jeevan Mission, Financial Empowerment, the historic abolition of Triple Talaq, etc.

“Recognizing the critical role women play in our society, the Modi government has placed Nari Shakti at the forefront of its agenda over the past decade. Our commitment to women-led development is unwavering and will continue to drive our policies in the coming years,” she asserted.

Priya Sethi asserted that BJP’s resolve to build a society where women are not just beneficiaries of development but are leaders in shaping the future of our nation. The Modi government’s proactive approach and progressive policies underscore its dedication to fostering an environment where every woman has the opportunity to thrive and lead, she added.
