The achievements of the 9 years of Modi government in Jammu & Kashmir is are as follws.

Road & Rail infrastructure:

Union government is making every possible effort to ensure that “A” classroad & train connectivity is available to the people of the UT. Qazigund to Srinagar & Srinagar bypass are almost a dream come true.

The circular road in Jammu is nearing completion & several sections of the same have been thrown openfor the commuters. Construction of the Delhi – Amritsar – Katra highway. The canal – Muthi flyover on the Jammu – Akhnoor – Rajouri/Poonch NH has changed the face of the area.

The upcoming flyover connecting 4th bridge over tawi river &to the Muthi flyover & back to the NH via Satwari.

There are around 20 number road tunnels (small & big) coming up in J&K as part of the infrastructure upgrade.  The Banihal railway tunnel is also ready.

Reasi in Jammu has the the highest railway bridge in the world. Similarly, it also has the distinction of having India’s first fully cable stayed railway bridge.

Delhi – JammuSrinagarBaramulla railway line is likely to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2024 or may be even earlier.

Hydroelectric power plants:

In next few years these stations will add more than 3000 Mega Watt of generating capacity to the kitty of the UT of J&K. Names of some of the projects under construction are Rattle, Kwar, Kiru, Pakkal Dool

Completing the languishing projects in transmission & improvement in distribution sector:

The 400 MVA transformer at Gladni Grid Sation had gutted in 2008. The transformer was repaired & was operating at 40% of its capacity since 2008. A new transformer bank was procured & installed only last year in a record time of 6 months.

The 220/132 KV grid station at Burn required augmentation of its transformation capacity in 2009 & successive governments had paid no heed to this. It was in 2021 that the grid station was augmented that shall provide better power supply to Poonch, Rajouri, surrounding areas of Jammu & Katra.

The only 132 KV line, from Udhampur grid, providing power to the Districts of Doda, Kishtwar & parts of Ramban was constructed in 1986. Resolution of this issue will also provide a new 220 KV line between Barn & Bishnah grid that will improve the position of power in years to come in Jammu province. All this as no one in the previous governments tried to resolve issues since 2008.

The longest pending 132 KV line in Poonch was also completed during this period to ensure infrastructure for the power consumers in Poonch area.

The government under PM, Modi & ably supported by the UT government constructed 2 no. 220 KV, 160 MVA, Grid stations in Ghatti (Kathua) & Samba for providing power to the upcoming industrial estates in the area as also to the domestic consumers.

The Modi government has launched Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) costing around 5200 for J&K to improve power infrastructure as well as to bring down losses in the power sector.

In addition to above massive infrastructure augmentation/improvement in distribution sector has also been carried out by way of creation/augmentation of new receiving stations, installation/augmentation of new distribution transformers & construction/augmentation of new 66Kv, 33 kv, 11 kv lines & rationalising load distribution. These changes are visible to any discerning eye travelling along the length & breadth of the UT of J&K.

Health services:

The facility of aayushman cards has been extended to every person in J&K as a special cases & this facility had proved to be a boon to thousands of patients in the UT.

AIIMS is also on way to completion in Vijaypura area of Jammu that will prove to be a boon not only to the people of J&K but also to the people of the nearby bordering states of Punjab & Himachal Pradesh.

Education:

Jammu has the distinction of having an IIM & an IIT in addition to the already existing Central University.

There has also been a comparative calm in the Kashmir Valley.

The GoI & UT governments need to be congratulated for holding successfully the G20 tourism summit in Srinagar & G20 youth programme in the Jammu University.

It is because of the far sightedness of the Modi government that the era of hartals, bandh-calendar, stone throwing & the like have come to a halt in the Kashmir Valley & people are able to go about their businesses 365 days a year. This is a marked change since the tuning down of article 370 & 35A in J&K. We are sure that under the capable leadership of the PM J&K will see a dawn of peace & tranquility in the UT of J&K & where the migrants of 1989/90 are able to return to their homes & hearth in the Valley to lead a normal life.
