MP: BJP MLA lodges complaint against unidentified caller demanding Rs 1 lakh for offering higher post in party organisation
Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh) [India], August 9 (ANI): A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Rajnagar assembly constituency Arvind Pateria has lodged a complaint against an unidentified caller who posed as a senior official of BJP Delhi office and demanded Rs 1 lakh offering him higher post in state party organisation, an official said.
MLA Pateria received the call a few days ago and lodged the complaint at Rajnagar police station in Chhatarpur district on Friday, the officer added.
City Superintendent of Police (CSP, Chhatarpur) Aman Mishra told ANI, “Rajnagar MLA Arvind Pateria received a call from an unknown number a few days ago. The caller introduced himself as a senior office bearer of BJP office, Delhi and demanded Rs 1 lakh from the MLA in exchange of offering him a higher post in the Madhya Pradesh Party organisation.”
Based on the incident, the MLA filed a complaint at Rajnagar police station on Friday. Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case under relevant sections against an unknown person and started an investigation into the matter, the officer said.
CSP Mishra further added that the police were investigating every aspect to find out the unknown caller. Whether AI was used in it or not was also being investigated.
