MP Ladakh, Secy Power visit tower construction site of 220 KV transmission line between Phyang-Nubra

LEH, May 19: Member of Parliament UT Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgial, accompanied by Secretary, Power Development Department, UT Ladakh Ravinder Kumar visited the tower construction site of the 220 KV Transmission line between Phyang and Nubra.

REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) is the project implementing agency for the 220 KV Phyang to Nobra transmission line and Drass-Zanskar 220 KV transmission line, being implemented under the Prime Minister’s Development Package.

The representative of RECPDCL appraised MP Ladakh about the ongoing construction works on the transmission line to which the MP expressed his dissatisfaction over the slow progress of the work and asked the project implementing agency (PIA) to submit details of man and machinery deployed along with the deployment plan at the earliest. The MP stressed that the project must be completed within the targeted time of completion.

Secretary Ravinder Kumar directed the PIA and contractors to complete the works at difficult locations of Khardongla on priority parallelly with other works of erection and stringing of lines so that the project is completed within the specified timeline.

Chief Engineer and Superintending Engineer along with their team were also present during the visit.
