MVD hosts free eye checkup camp for Transporters, Drivers & Conductors at Sailan Talab Udhampur
UDHAMPUR, December 12: The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Udhampur, in collaboration with Rotary Eye & ENT Hospital Udhampur, conducted a free Eye screening/check-up cum awareness camp for Commercial Vehicle Transporters, Drivers, and Conductors at Sailan Talab, Udhampur.
The event witnessed Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, as the chief guest, and Senior Superintendent of Police Joginder Singh as the guest of honor.
Over 150 Transporters, Drivers, and Conductors actively participated in the camp, where they received comprehensive eye checkups and were educated on the significance of adhering to traffic norms.
The Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Ramesh Kumar, eye specialists from Rotary Eye Hospital, members of transport unions, and commercial drivers and conductors, were present at the camp.
In her address, DC Saloni Rai emphasized that the camp aimed to facilitate the eye checkup of road operators, raising awareness about regular eye examinations for safe driving and accident prevention. She also provided insights into Road Safety Parameters, urging drivers to abstain from drugs and intoxicants for their safety and that of passengers. The DC encouraged drivers and conductors to prioritize their health through routine checkups.
