MVD organizes Awareness programme on Road Safety
ANANTNAG, JANUARY 31: As part of the 35th National Road Safety Month 2024 celebration, Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Anantnag in collaboration with All J&K Truck Union Association and Traffic Rural Department organised an awareness programme with Truck Drivers at Qazigund.
The main aim of the programme was to sensitise the drivers about following traffic rules and road safety and promote responsible driving practices.
Ravinder Pal Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic Rural was chief guest on the occasion.
SSP Traffic Rural shed light on crucial aspects of road safety, emphasizing the importance of adherence to traffic rules and regulations.
On the occasion, Assistant Regional Transport Officer Anantnag, Dr Mohammad Zubair Lattoo stressed upon the drivers to adhere to speed limits while driving, abhor drinking of alcohol and drugs reflective tape, and discard the practice of Multi toned Horns in trucks.
Later, MVD Anantnag launched ‘Gift a Rose campaign’ besides Certificates of commendation were distributed among disciplined drivers who were found following traffic rules in order to appreciate them.
