MVD team conducts enforcement drive in Poonch

POONCH, FEBRUARY 11: To enhance the road safety, the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Poonch conducted a comprehensive enforcement drive today, on the directives of Deputy Commissioner   Vikas Kundal and Transport Commissioner Vishesh Pal Mahajan.

The drive focused particularly on school buses and vans, ensuring compliance with safety regulations designed to protect young passengers. During the operation, approximately 50 vehicles were inspected for adherence to established safety features.

As a result of the drive, officials issued 10 challans, which collectively amounted to ₹70,000. The initiative underscores the commitment of the MVD to enforce traffic regulations and prioritize the welfare of school children.

The ARTO appealed to vehicle operators to adopt all recommended safety features. He emphasized the critical role that operators play in ensuring the safety and well-being of children during their daily commutes.

Additionally, he requested school principals to evaluate and potentially increase their transportation fleet in accordance with the strength of their student population. This collaborative approach is essential in fostering a safe environment for children traveling to and from school.
