My Youth My Pride Sports activities organised in Kathua district
KATHUA, JULY 13: Even as the temperature was on the higher side, a series of sports activities were conducted at many places in the Jammu division by the district units of J&K Sports Council.
The Tug of War and Rope Skipping competitions were held at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya under special sports vertical My Youth My Pride.
The DDC Chairman Kathua Col. Mahan Singh was the chief guest on the occasion while Deputy Commissioner Kathua Dr. Rakesh Minhas was the guest of honour.
Around eight boys and an equal number of girls participated in the Tug of war events, while a good number of players also participated in Rope skipping events. A large hoard of spectators witnessed the event.
DDC Member, Goldy Singh, BDC Chairperson Basohli, Sushma Jamwal; Municipal Committee Basohli Chairman, Sumesh Spolia; ADC Basohli, Ajit Singh; Principal JNV Basohli, Jaipal Singh Jamwal; ZPEO, Tara Singh were also present at the venue.
The event was supervised by Baljinder Pal Singh Manager Kathua. Matches were officiated by Rohit Sharma, Vinod Kumar and Babeeta.
Meanwhile, a cycle race was organised by the Sports Council from Atal Setu to Zero Morh and back to Atal Setu.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Basohli Ajit Singh flagged off the race. Chairman Municipal Committee Basohli Sumesh Spolia was also present on the occasion. Sarang Sharma won the race beating its opponents by a narrow margin.
