NABARD sponsored Skill Training concludes at RSETI Shopian
30 Specially-abled candidates completed skill training on tailoring
SHOPIAN, December 07: Under NABARDs Skill Development scheme, 30 specially-abled candidates from Shopian completed their one month on-site skill training programme on tailoring at Zainpora.
The training was conducted by Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) Shopian.
The valediction ceremony was held at RSETI Shopian in which the District Development Manager NABARD, Rouf Zargar was invited as chief guest. The programme was attended by Lead District Manager Farooq Ahmad, Director RSETI, Nazir Ahmad, Tehsil Social Welfare Officer and President Handicapped Association Shopian
Speaking on the occasion, DDM NABARD said that NABARD has sanctioned various Skill Development programmes to professional skill agencies and RSETIs across the UT and provides grant based financial assistance to agencies towards the conduct of such programmes.
He said the programmes are aimed at enhancing the skills of rural youth and thus providing them the avenues of livelihood by setting up their own units or opting for wage employment. The course for specially-abled was intended to provide gainful livelihood to these target groups.
Director RSETI complimented the candidates for completing the course and assured all possible handholding support to them from RSETI. He urged the candidates to properly utilize the skills learned during the course. LDM assured all the financial support from banks specifically targeted for weaker sections of society.
TSWO gave an overview of various schemes available with the Social Welfare Department for specially-abled people. She assured that the department would provide the benefits of those schemes to these groups.
The candidates were felicitated with mementos and course completion certificates.
