Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan: District-wide Awareness drives held in Baramulla to combat Drug Abuse

BARAMULLA, APRIL 07: In an effort to create a drug-free society, the District Administration Baramulla organized a series of awareness workshops and informative sessions across various panchayats and educational institutions of the district under Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan.

As per the schedule, the programs were successfully conducted in five blocks of the district viz. Nadihal, Noorkhah, Pattan, Rafiabad and Rohama, drawing participation from hundreds of students, youth and community members.

These sessions were conducted with the coordinated efforts of the Health Department, Police, Education Department, Social Welfare Department, and other concerned agencies.

The initiative witnessed active participation from students, youth, and community members who engaged in discussions and educational interactions on the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of collective action in eradicating this menace.

The resource persons highlighted the psychological, social and legal consequences of drug addiction and encouraged community involvement in prevention strategies.

Speakers also emphasized the need for sustained awareness and community-led vigilance to curb the spread of drugs and called upon students and local youth to become ambassadors of a drug-free society.
