National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa, Leh organises workshop on relevance of official language Hindi
LEH, March 28: The National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa, Leh organised a one-day workshop on the importance of official language Hindi and its promotion in Ladakh on March 27 at the conference hall of National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa, Leh.
The event was inaugurated by chief guest Deputy Director General, Doordarshan and All India Radio, Ladakh, R.K. Jarangal.
Director National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa, Leh, Dr Padma Gurmet highlighted the importance of Hindi language in official works of Central Govt offices and rules and regulations about use of official language.
He has also highlighted the significant contribution of All India Radio and Doordarshan for promotion of Hindi in Ladakh and acknowledged the role of Central Govt employees including Army and Paramilitary forces for promotion of Hindi in Ladakh.
R.K. Jarangal congratulated National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa, Leh for organising the workshop and said that Hindi is our official language and we must contribute for promotion of Hindi being a central Govt employee and as citizen of India. He expressed his happiness about the understanding of Hindi language in Ladakhi society, around 90% of the public in Ladakh can understand Hindi. He said that both Doordarshan and All India Radio are committed to promoting Hindi.
Technical lecture on various aspects of official language Hindi was presented by Hindi Lecturer, EJM College, Leh, Dr Tsering Chorol, Public Financial Management System (PFMS) office, Leh, Phuntsok Angchok, Hindi Assistant, DIHAR Leh, Shilpi Shaw and Central Institute of Buddhist Studies, Leh, Dr Sonam Angchok.
Associate Professor, NISR Leh, Dr Nawang Tangais presented a vote of thanks.
