National Lok Adalat held at Kupwara

KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 10:  The District Legal Services Authority Kupwara, on Saturday held 3rd National Lok Adalat in all courts of the District.

To settle the 678 cases of different nature 06 benches were constituted by DLSA.

 At Headquarter Kupwara Bench No. 1 was presided over by Shazia Tabasum Pr. District & Sessions Judge/ Chairperson District Legal Services Authority, Kupwara along with Altaf Ahmad Mir Civil Judge/Munsiff JMIC Kupwara, who acted as a member of the said bench.

Bench No. 2 was comprised of Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Khan Sub-Judge/ Secretary DLSA, Kupwara (Presiding Officer) along with Bar President Kupwara (Mr. Shafeeq Ahmad Shah) as its member. 

Similar other benches were also constituted in the other courts of District Kupwara viz. Handwara, Tangdar and Sogam.449 cases were finally disposed off and compromised between the parties. Further, also an amount of Rs. 87,00,000 was also settled/awarded to the parties through the intervention of these benches. 

 General Public, Lawyers, Litigants and other Government Officials participated in National Lok Adalat. The officials of different departments in particular different Banks and officers of BSNL extended their full cooperation and coordination for resolving the cases pertaining to their departments amicably and willfully with the parties to the case.

The General Public, Lawyers and Litigants  showed their massive response to the National Lok Adalat and also applauded the efforts of Chairperson District Legal Services Authority Kupwara, Shazia Tabasum for organizing a smooth and public friendly Lok Adalat.
