National Road Safety Month: GDC Ramgarh organises symposium
UDHAMPUR, JANUARY 30: In continuation to the special series of activities under ‘National Road Safety Month’, the Literary Club of Government Degree College Ramgarh organised a Symposium on the theme ‘Importance of Traffic Rules for Road Safety’ and a Poster Making competition organised by Cultural & Fine Arts Club.
The event was held under the guidance and supervision of esteemed Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra. At the outset, she informed the students about the objective of organizing programmes. She said that the aim of this Symposium and Poster Making was to raise awareness and educate the youth about the danger and risks of reckless or irresponsible driving and encourage the youth to drive carefully keeping their life and lives of the people around them safe. She also educated the students and counselled them to follow traffic rules and regulations for their safety.
The Symposium was coordinated by the Convenor of Literary Club, GDC, Ramgarh, Prof. (Dr.) Snobar, HOD, Punjabi, and the Poster Making Competition was coordinated by the Convenor of Cultural and Fine Arts, Prof. Sandeep Kumari.
A total number of 11 students participated in the Symposium and expressed their views on road safety awareness, traffic safety rules, traffic jam problems, etc. They presented their views in multiple languages such as English, Dogri, Hindi and Punjabi.
The jury members were Prof. Sandeep Kumari, Prof. Brham Dutt and Dr. Imitiyaz.
Malkit Kour, from 6th semester secured 1st rank, Ritika, semester 6th got 2nd and Tamana Attri from semester 4th stood 3rd.
In Poster Making competition, 9 students participated. The jury members were Dr. Aditi Khajuria and Dr. Ekta rani. Alisha Menia from semester 4th secured 1st position, Tamana Attri got 2nd position and Aruna Kumari stood 3rd.
The faculty members who were present in the Programme are Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Dr. Snobar, Prof. Sandeep Kumari, Prof. Brham Dutt, Dr. Ekta Rani, Dr. Imitiyaz Ahmed, Priya Sharma, Dr. Akansha, Sonali Dutta, Arpana, Ram Murti, Dr. Fayaz Ahmed, Anil Kumar and Sunil Kumar.
