National Voters’ Day at GDC Thathri

Jammu & Kashmir, January 25: The Department of Political Science in collaboration with the College Literary Committee organised a graceful guest lecture and a discussion programme on the eve of National Voter’s Day. The whole event was organised under the able guidance and patronage of the College Principal Dr. Basharat Iqbal. The guest speaker on the occasion was Prof. Arshad Ayoub, HoD Political Science who in his detailed presentation highlighted the significance, the integrity and the relevance of voting for the welfare of the Nation. Prof. Ayoub also shared his thoughts about Viksit Bharat and the role of every citizen especially in the electoral process. The lecture was followed by an informative question- answer session in which Prof. Arshad cleared the doubts and various queries of the students regarding the National Voter’s Day.

The College Principal Dr. Basharat Iqbal in his address emphasised the need for every person to cast his/her Vote and the difference it can make for the future of our nation. Dr. Basharat also lauded the efforts for organising such interactive and informative events on this day and motivated the students to spread awareness regarding the significance of voting.

The whole event was organised and managed by the convenor College Literary Committee Prof. Deepak Raj who held a pledge taking ceremony in the presence of college staff and students. The event was graced by the HoDs of the departments of EVS, Urdu, Economics and Physical Education. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Muzaffar Ahmed, HoD EVS who congratulated everyone associated with the event for making it a grand success.
