NC delegation led by Ajaz Jan meets DC Poonch, discusses issues concerning Poonch people  

POONCH, June 24: A delegation from the National Conference, led by Ajaz Jan, Provincial President Youth JKNC Jammu, and former Legislator, met with Choudhary Mohammad Yasin, IAS, to extend their heartfelt congratulations on his appointment as the Deputy Commissioner of Poonch District. The delegation, comprising the District President, Block President, Sarpanches, Councillors, and prominent individuals from the district, expressed their confidence in his leadership and pledged their support towards resolving the challenges faced by the general public.

During the meeting, Ajaz Jan conveyed his congratulations to Deputy Commissioner Ch Yasin and expressed his hope that the newly appointed official would work diligently towards addressing the pressing issues that the local community is grappling with.

One of the prominent concerns raised by the senior National Conference leader was the inadequate road connectivity in the district. He highlighted the urgent need for improvements in this area and urged the Deputy Commissioner to take necessary steps to address this long-standing problem.

In addition, Ajaz Jan expressed serious concern over the delayed approval of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) issues for over three years. He emphasized the adverse impact this delay has had on the general public and called upon the Deputy Commissioner to expedite the resolution of these pending matters.

The delegation also requested the Deputy Commissioner’s intervention in accelerating the pace of development projects in remote areas, particularly in relation to road construction. The completion of these road works before the onset of the upcoming winter season was deemed crucial to ensuring improved connectivity and the well-being of the local populace, he added.

Furthermore, the former Legislator drew attention to the deplorable condition of the power supply in far-flung areas, citing the current scorching heat as a critical factor. He appealed to Deputy Commissioner Yasin to address this issue promptly and ensure regular power supply to these regions.

Giving a patient hearing, the Deputy Commissioner Ch Yasin reassured the visiting delegation that he understood the gravity of the aforementioned challenges and assured to prioritize their resolution. He expressed his commitment to work tirelessly towards addressing these concerns and improving the overall well-being of the people of Poonch District.
