Omar Abdullah Govt committed to fulfill aspirations of J&K people: Surinder Choudhary

Jammu, October 25: The Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) on Friday extended a warm and rousing reception to Surinder Choudhary, the newly appointed Deputy Chief Minister, during his visit to Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, Jammu

In this connection, a public meeting was organized at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan in which Ajay Sadhotra, Additional General Secretary JKNC and former Minister; Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of JKNC and other senior leaders and party workers were present. The event marked Choudhary’s first visit to Jammu after taking on his new role, and he was greeted with enthusiasm by party leaders and supporters.

Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of JKNC, delivered the welcome address, congratulating Surinder Choudhary on his appointment. 

In his remarks, Rattan Lal Gupta emphasized the significance of this moment, highlighting the hopes and aspirations of the people of J&K pinned on the new government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. 

He stated, “The past decade has been challenging for the people of J&K, with the state being bifurcated into two union territories and there was no popular government to address the concerns of the common man. Now, with the National Conference heading the government, we are committed to resolving the issues faced by the public and ensuring stability.”

Ajay Sadhotra, Senior NC leader and former Minister also spoke on the occasion, praising the leadership of Surinder Choudhary and the commitment of the National Conference to restoring the dignity and development of Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the need for a unified approach to tackle the challenges facing the region and expressed confidence in the new government’s ability to deliver on its promises. “The people of J&K have long awaited effective governance, and under the leadership of Omar Abdullah, we are hopeful that this new administration will bring positive changes and growth,” he added.

Surinder Choudhary, addressing the gathering, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed his commitment to the people of J&K. He assured, “The National Conference Government will fulfill all the promises outlined in our manifesto. We will work tirelessly to restore the priorities set by the Omar Abdullah-led government and revive the state’s development.”

Choudhary assured the people of J&K that the National Conference would work “day and night” to address their issues and build a prosperous future for the state. “Our government headed by Omar Abdullah is committed to listening to the people, understanding their concerns, and providing effective solutions,” he added.

Choudhary also emphasized the importance of resuming the Darbar Move, a bi-annual tradition that connects the regions of Jammu and Kashmir, stating that it is essential for reviving the economy of Jammu. “Resuming the Darbar Move will not only ensure administrative efficiency but also stimulate local businesses and industries,” he said.

The proceedings were conducted by Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Provincial Secretary JKNC.

The event was attended by prominent party leaders and a large gathering of supporters, who expressed their optimism for a new era under the leadership of the National Conference.
