NC has given equal right to Jammu; Dy CM wasn’t compulsion, it was act of loyalty: Omar
JAMMU, 19 Oct: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah while addressing the party workers in Jammu said that NC has given equal right to Jammu and selection of Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary wasn’t a compulsion but was an act of loyalty.
Omar Abdullah said that Jammu has witnessed several Deputy CMs in past which was product of compulsion of coalitions. When Mufti Mohd Syed became Chief Minister of J&K, PDP forged alliance with Congress and Madan Lal Sharma was made Deputy CM, when Ghulam Nabi Azad was made CM, Kashmir got the designation of Deputy CM and when I (Omar Abdullah) ruled and alliance demanded Deputy CM as Tara Chand.
But this time we have made Deputy CM of same party (National Conference) devoid of any compulsions. We have ensured equality to both Jammu and Kashmir.
This is a tight slap to those who claimed that National Conference is a Muslim outfit. This political party has not place for people other than Muslims.
People used to label NC as “Kashmiri Jamat” and a hub of political dynast.
When it came to selecting the Deputy Chief Minister, we choose Hindu and he has no connections with my family, asserted Omar Abdullah. So, we have proved them wrong in all aspects.
As the Delimitation exercise was done so that only one political outfit would suck all the benefits and the way they blamed National Conference for J&K crisis are all the ways which can make them (BJP) reach to election but made them fall flat in polls said CM Abdullah.
CM Omar Abdullah said that many attempts were made to destablize the National Conference however the workers stood fast. Omar hailed the workers working at the ground level.
Omar added that now is difficult time for us as we have to live up to expectations of people, eliminate grievances of the public and reduce the gap between people and Government.
CM Omar said that denizens of Kashmir and Chenab valley who were angry expressed their anger in form of ballot. But we have heard that Jammuties are also angry
Darbar move and smart meter power & water crisis, unemployment but this behaviour wasn’t witnessed at Polling Booth
Omar clarified that the Government will not run on vote pattern because for NC everyone is equal and reaffirmed his commitment to serve people of J&K.
