NC will develop Katra on modern lines if voted to power in ULB polls: Rattan Lal
Asks party cadre to gear up for ensuing polls
KATRA May 12: Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President J&K National Conference asked the party cadre to gird up loins to make a mark in the forthcoming ULB polls as the chances of the party are bright this time because people have been disappointed by the poor performance of Municipal Corporation, Municipal Councils and Municipal Committees under BJP leadership in Jammu region.
He was speaking at the workers meeting organised by senior NC leader Tariq Butt District Secretary Reasi at Holy town Katra here today.
The senior NC leader asserted that the Municipal Corporation, Municipal Councils and Municipal Committees have become the den of corruption and the people are fed up of the poor performance given by the incumbent helmsmen running the municipality. He said that the LG led administration has miserably failed to address civic issues of holy town Katra wherein people from across the country visited in crores to seek the blessings of Maa Vaishno Devi Ji.
Rattan Lal Gupta said that the Katra town was neglected on cleanliness and sanitation front. He said people of the area are deprive of development even the pilgrims facing huge problems on account basic amenities.
Gupta asked the people of the area to support NC as always to once again see the all round development and welfare of people without any discrimination on the basis of religion, language or any other distinction. He committed that the National Conference will develop Katra as Model Town in which people as well as visiting pilgrims will get all basic amenities, if the party voted to power in the upcoming ULB polls.
Rattan Lal Gupta said that ground level workers can play the active role in changing the course of ULB polls therefore it is significant that NC cadre should mobilize the grass-root level workers to ensure resounding victory in the upcoming polls. He said that only National Conference can address people’s problems for which the party cadre will have to further strengthen the base of party at grass roots level.
Among others who were present include : Sheikh Bashir Ahmed Provincial Secretary Jammu, Vijay Lochan Provincial President SC Cell, Banarsi Dass, Manzoor Hussain, Robin Kumar, Jugal Kishore, Abdul Rashid, Amir Khan, Bishan Lal Bhagat, Kali Dass, Jagdish Lal and other party functionaries.
