NCERT cum SCERT J&K, organized four-day Capacity Building Programme for teachers in Jammu

 JAMMU 15 SEP NCERT in collaboration with SCERT J&K, organized four days Capacity Building Programme for Teachers and Teacher Educators on FLN at Foundational and Preparatory Stagesw.e.f 12th to 15th September 2023, at SCERT Complex Jammu under the mentorship of Prof. (Dr.) Parikshat Singh Manhas, Director SCERT J&K and able guidance and supervision Sh. H.R Pakhroo, Joint Director SCERT Jammu

The target group of the programme was 80 KRPs from SCERT Jammu & SCERT Kashmir @ 10 each and 03 from each District of JKUTwith an aim to build the capacity of Teachers and Teacher Educators on FLN at Foundational and Preparatory Stages as per the demands of NEP-2020 and NCF-FS 2022.

Sh. N P Singh, Associate Professor and HOD ECCE, welcomed all the dignitaries, Resource persons from NCERT and the Participants from 20 districts of Jammu & Kashmir UT.

The program was inaugurated by Dr. Padma Yadav, Professor, DEE NCERT in the presence of Sh. H.R. Pakhroo, worthy Joint Director, SCERT Jammu. Other dignitaries present in the occasion were Prof. Swarn Singh Jaral, Prof. Surjeet Kumar, Sh. Kishore Kumar, Sh. Romi Kumar, SCERT, Jammu.

While addressing the participants, Joint Director inspired the participants to keep pace with changing time and highlighted the need and importance of this programme for Teachers and Teacher Educators so as to achieve the aim of FLN mission.

The Resource Persons from NCERT included Dr. Padma Yadav, Professor DEE, Dr. Meenakshi Khar, Professor DEL, Ms. Nisha N Singh, Sr. Consultant DEE, Ms. Blessy K Benny, Consultant DEE, Mr. Mukund Kumar Jha, Consultant DEE, Ms. Yashika Chawla, Project Fellow, Ms Varsha Singhal, Research Scholar, Jamia Millia Islamia University, Delhi and Ms Garima Pandey, Teacher MCD School.

The resource persons conducted interactive sessions on Numeracy, Literacy, Reading and Writing, Holistic Development of the children’s learning, Demonstration of Jaadui Pitara, Development of Number Sense and Place Value, Number Operations, Shapes and Pattern and Role of Technology at Foundational and Preparatory Stages enlightened the participants on the use of innovative pedagogies in the classroom.

Valedictory function was graced by Joint Director SCERT Jammu, Sh. H R Pakhroo, Prof. Swarn Singh Jaral, Prof. Surjeet Kumar, Associate Professors Sh. NP Singh, Sh. Kishore Kumar Sh.Romi Kumar , Dr. Neeraj Jandial and Assistant Professors Mtr. Parveen Akther , Ms.Pushpa Kaith  and Dr. Sanjeevani, SCERT, Jammu.

 Sh.H.R.Pakhroo, worthy Joint Director, urged the participants to disseminate the knowledge and experiences gained in the programme in the field and work as per the vision of NEP 2020. 

The programme was coordinated by Prof..A K Rajput, Professor DEE and Head Publications Division, NCERT, New Delhi and Prof. Usha Sharma, Prof . DEE and incharge of the cell for National Centre for literacy, NCERT, New Delhi. The organizing team from SCERT Jammu included Mr. Sunil Kumar, Puneet Thukral, Dr. Rohini Sharma, Ashok Kumar, Kuldeep Kumar, Bikram Singh, Amit Bhagat, Deepak Kumar, Monica Sharma, Arsh Kour and  Shazia kousar (Academic Officers). Mr. Navneet Gupta and Yugal Kishore provided technical support for the smooth conduct of the programme.

The report of the four days program was presented by Dr. Rohini Sharma Sr. Academic Officer. The program concluded with the distribution of appreciation certificates to the participants by Joint Director JK, SCERT, Divisional office Jammu. Vote of thanks was presented by Mr. Anil Sharma, Academic officer SCERT, Jammu.
