New Policy focuses on training Indian students to be global citizens: DC
POONCH, December 19: “Teachers are the real stakeholders who can effectively implement the New Education Policy- 2020 to make their students into Global Citizens” said Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet while addressing a Seminar on NEP 2020 “Transforming Vision into Action” organized by Department of School Education Poonch in the premises of Shaheed Dysp Manjeet Singh Memorial Model Higher Secondary School here today.
The seminar commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Deputy Commissioner, who was the chief guest on the occasion.
Mohammed Ashraf, Joint Director School Education Poonch-Rajouri and Principal DIET Poonch were the guests of Honor, while Dr. Jasbir Singh, Principal Shri Krishan Chander Govt Degree College Poonch was the Special Guest.
The Seminar was presided over by Chief Education Officer, Bishamber Dass.
The welcome address was delivered by District Education and Planning Officer, N.M Suri. He termed the seminar as an opportunity to explore and understand the impact and challenges of the New Education Policy.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet said that the teachers need to set the goals and design their strategy accordingly to achieve the targets.
He emphasized on the effective implementation and timely monitoring of the NEP: 2020 so that the goals of the Policy must be achieved.
Eminent resource persons, including Sr Lecturer DIET Poonch, Muzaffer Hussain, presented papers on Curtailing Dropouts and Ensuring Universal Access to Education and Equitable and Inclusive Education. Darshan Kumar, (DRP), presented papers on Efficient Resourcing and Effective Governance through School Complexes and Teacher and Teacher education. Ajay Maini, (DRP) presented papers on Early Childhood Care and Education and Curriculum and Pedagogy in Schools and Harish Sharma, (DRP) presented papers on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy and Standard-Setting and Accreditation for School Education.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohammed Ashraf, Joint Director School Education Poonch-Rajouri said that the NEP: 2020 will not only make the students Global Citizens but will also improve the Human Development Index of our Nation. He asked the teachers to equip themselves with modern technology to meet the challenges of 21st century.
Principal Krishan Chander Government Degree College Poonch, Dr. Jasbir Singh, in his address, highlighted the theme of NEP:2020 which are being implemented in higher education. He also asked the teachers to educate the society about the NEP: 2020.
Chief Education, Bishamber Dass, in his address, spoke on the role and responsibility of Teachers and DDOs in the implementation of the NEP:2020. He emphasized on the need of proper planning and commitment on the part of the teachers and the Heads of the Institutions. He also asked the Heads of schools to be familiar with all the components of the NEP:2020 so that the real goal of the Policy is achieved.
Principal DIET Poonch, Dr. Madan Lal Sharma, highlighted the initiatives taken by the District Institute of Education and Trainings Poonch in the implementation of NEP: 2020 in Poonch district.
The proceedings of the Seminar were conducted by Darshan Kumar (DRG) and Mohammad Ajaz.
