NH-44 traffic stalled: LMVs held up due to nomadic flocks, traffic advisory issued
Traffic on NH-44, a major highway connecting Jammu and Srinagar, is experiencing delays today due to the movement of large nomadic flocks between Ramban and Banihal. As a result, authorities have been unable to allow southbound light motor vehicles (LMVs) from the Srinagar side.
Traffic police are urging LMV drivers and passengers to remain patient and cooperate with them. They advise commuters to strictly adhere to lane discipline, as overtaking can worsen congestion.
The delays are specifically impacting southbound LMVs. Heavy movement of nomadic flocks is cited as the primary cause.
For those seeking alternative routes, the SSG road and Mughal road are currently open for one-way LMV traffic.
