According to a traffic advisory issued by the Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police Headquarters, poor road conditions, sharp turns near T5, and movement of nomadic flocks are further contributing to the congestion. Officials urged commuters to be patient and maintain lane discipline, as overtaking can worsen the situation.
The advisory highlights alternative routes for travellers. These include the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri (SSG) Road, Mughal Road, Bhaderwah-Chamba road, and NH-244, which are currently open for vehicular movement.
