NIT Srinagar, BIS J&K host educational outreach programme for faculty, scholars
Srinagar, May 28: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar NIT Srinagar, in collaboration with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Jammu and Kashmir branch offices (JKBO) organized an Educational Outreach programme for faculty members and research scholars.
Director, NIT Srinagar, Prof. A Ravinder Nath, alongside Prof. Najeeb UdDin, Chairperson IIEDC, and over 50 faculty members and research scholars from various disciplines of NIT Srinagar, participated in the program with immense zeal and enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, a team of BIS officers including Tilak Raj, Director and Head JKBO; Devansh Deolekar, Joint Director, LITD; Pradeep Singh Shekhawat, Joint Director, CED; Tejas Sandeep Mahale, Deputy Director SCMD; Mohit Garg, Deputy Director, CHD; and Saaqib Rahi, Deputy Director, MTD, served as speakers for the workshop.
The workshop covered various aspects, including an overview of the BIS and standardization ecosystems in the country, the significance of research projects in standard formulation, BIS’s digital initiatives, such as becoming a member of the technical committee, proposals for new standards, guidelines on Research and Development Projects by BIS, and Terms of Reference.
