NIT Srinagar’s Rajbhasha Cell organizes workshop for ministerial, teaching staff
Srinagar, Sep 26: The Rajbhasha Cell of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar on Thursday organized a workshop titled ‘Use of Rajbhasha Hindi in technical institutions’ for the Ministerial, teaching staff of the institution.
On the occasion, Dr. Sakina Akhter, Hindi Adhikari, Central University of Kashmir (CUK) was the main resource person for the workshop. She said that there is a need to work on Hindi language in Kashmir and break the taboos of the past.
In his message, Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. A. Ravinder Nath appreciated the Rajbhasha Cell for organising the workshop during the Hindi Pakhwada. We are putting its best efforts to make sure that all official orders come in bilingual form, he said.
Institute’s Registrar, Prof. Atikur Rehman said various efforts are being taken to implement the Rajbhasha on the campus. All-important circulars and orders of the institute are being released in the bilingual mode so that its implementation target is achieved,” he said.
Prof. Rehman appreciated the efforts of Dr. RP Shukla, Hindi Officer NIT Srinagar for organizing the workshop on relevant themes. We will continue to provide support to such programs in future, he added.
In her key address, Hindi Adhikari CUK, Dr Sakina highlighted the brief history of Rajbasha and its importance in technical institutions like NIT Srinagar.
She said that the central government has taken steps to encourage the use and propagation of Hindi as Rajbhasha while also recognizing and supporting the diversity of languages in the country.
“Until we are not interested and have a lack of will power, it is not possible to implement Hindi at the Institution level. The staff should be loyal towards their job. IT tools are very important in implementation of Rajbhasha,” Dr Sakina said.
While sharing her 10-year professional experience, CUK’s Hindi Adhikari Dr Sakina said there is no age bar in learning Hindi rather than it will prove more beneficial to the employees.
“Although there are some challenges in learning the new language, when there is curiosity and consistency, these challenges can be overcomed ” she said, adding that learning Hindi is easier as compared to other languages.
Dr Sakina further said at CUK, they are in process to get more IT Tools including some professional translating IT tools, that will help staff in a larger way.
“We need more such efforts for its implementation and the main aim of organizing such workshops is to raise awareness regarding the Hindi language,” she added.
Dr. Prabal Verma, Dr. Ravi Kumar, Dr Pravan and Dr. Amandeep were the coordinators of the event.
In his inaugural address, Hindi Officer Dr. R P Shukla (Assistant Professor, Civil Engg) said the Rajbhasha cell of NIT Srinagar is working on a mission to implement official language on the campus.
Dr. Shukla expressed gratitude to Dr. Sakina Akhter, Hindi Adhikari for hosting the workshop session.
Hindi Translator NIT Srinagar, Dr. Sabzar Gani delivered a vote of thanks to the resource person and expressed his gratitude to the Hindi Officer, participants, coordinators, and ministerial staff members who contributed to the success of the event.
